Event Details
Join us this summer at the STEM Center of Excellence, at Camp Whispering Cedars for an adventure packed coding camp! Learn to code your very own computer games from scratch while also experiencing the outdoors and cool activities like: archery, low-ropes, zip-lining, and even a giant swing!
Participating campers will also receive the following:
A Camp Tee Shirt.
Lunch and snacks (provide daily).
A completion certificate for 100% attendance.

Additional Camp Details:
Campers need to arrive daily by 9 am and will need to be picked up by 3 pm.
Co-ed for middle school and high school grades.
Campers will need to bring a swim suit and a towel in order to use the swimming pool.
Learning Objectives
In this camp for middle and high school students, students will be introduced to beginner-level computing methods using a common programming language: Python. At the end of the camp, each camper will apply the programming methods they’ve learned to design and develop computer games with code.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this camp, students will be able to:
Document their code with comments
Print messages to the console
Define variables of different types
Perform arithmetic operations
Compare values with logic operators and conditional statements
Use while and for loops to repetitively perform a specific task
Use functions to perform certain tasks
Draw shapes and print messages with the turtle library
Perform tasks that are dependent on input from the user
Identify the location where a user has clicked on the screen
Develop a computer game using the turtle library from Python
